About the Foundation
Established in 1996, the Academy Prep Foundation, Inc. serves several important functions:
- To replicate the Academy Prep Centers
- To share best practices among the Academy Prep Centers
- To serve as the initial funding source for new Academy Prep Centers
Brief History
The Academy Prep Foundation was established in 1996 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In May 2000, four additional 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations were established to operate as affiliated entities of the Academy Prep Foundation. These organizations are Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg, Inc.; Academy Prep Center of Tampa, Inc.; Academy Prep Center of Lakeland, Inc.; and one other for a future center.
Ensuring the Future
Each Academy Prep Center for Education raises funds to ensure the long-term viability of each school. The Board Designated Endowment grown by these funds allows each school to focus more on the business of educating and supporting students and less on annual fundraising to pay for student scholarships.
